Professional Credentials

M.A. Tufts University, 1974; two years post-graduate training in counseling, L.M.H.C. (licensed mental health counselor) since 1992. Author of four books combining transformational psychology, astrology, self-help, dreamwork and transpersonal astrology (translated into 16 languages)

3rd Party Reimbursement

3rd Party Reimbursement: I reduce my fees rather than take insurance but will begin taking some health insurance plans in fall 2006.

Professional Services

Both long-term psychotherapy and short-term counseling.
Heart-centered approach focusing upon:

  • gaining deeper contact with your true self – your deepest feelings, needs and inner guidance
  • healing wounds of the past and unresolved grief
  • increasing self-esteem and self-acceptance
  • empowering yourself to live the life you want
  • creating more fulfilling relationships, and expanding your capacity to give and receive love

I work with both heterosexual and gay clients, do relationship counseling, and also address the specific concerns of clients oriented toward the arts, spirituality, and politics. I also do transformational astrology consultations focusing on empowering oneself through listening to and cooperating with the guidance of one’s “planetary personalities.”

Unique Qualities

I have been a half-time psychotherapist for 22 years, and have trained in half a dozen modalities (including psychodynamic psychotherapy, psychosynthesis and transpersonal psychotherapy, and gestalt therapy), and have a wide repertoire of skills which I adapt to the individual client.

Other professional pursuits: Leading “Becoming Your Own Heroine” women’s self-empowerment groups, photography, photoshop instruction and consulting, writing. My diverse personal and professional experience have kept me from becoming “burnt out” as a therapist, and help me to remain fully invested in the personal growth process with each client.

Professional Passion

My passion is to participate in the magic of my clients’ transformative process, as they gain self-acceptance and self-esteem, heal their woundedness, awaken their latent talents and strengths, and experience greater personal fulfillment and meaning in life.
